Home again!

I had a wonderful time on vacation, visiting my family in Virginia. We stayed with my brother in his "starter castle" (5 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms) plenty of room for visitors.

Preston & I went to Washington, D.C. and saw the play "Spamalot" at the National Theatre. We spent some time walking around Washington, there is so much to see.

I saw a cool butterfly flutterby (I don't know one kind of butterfly from another) but nobody told me how difficult they are to photograph! I took about 15 shots, before I finally got a usable one! (hooray for digital!)

The train was fun again this year, we had our own sleeping comparment, nice, private and WAY better than driving for 16 hours!

Welcome home!!!!

Your brother certainly has a grand house, doesn't he? Hope you had a lovely time there.

The play, checking out Washington, even the train ride itself - it all sounds like fun!

And I'm very impressed with the photo...I think Sandy can attest to how hard it is to get a picture of a butterfly (I've never managed it, myself!)

I hope you now have a happy, 'had-fun-but-it's-good-to-be-home' feeling!

Tuffenuf, welcome back to your house! We have missed you but hope you really had a wonderful time visiting VA and the Washington DC area.

FYI, that beautiful butterfly you were able to photograph is called a Zebra Swallowtail. Very nice and very unusual. I don't think I've ever seen one in person. Good for you for getting such a great shot. Butterflies are almost as elusive as hummingbirds are to photograph. So, good for you for getting such a great picture.

Can't wait to hear more about your grand train trip.

Welcome home tuffenuf and I know you had a wonderful time and can't wait to see your pictures and to hear more about your trip. I know that you must have some great stories.

That was a great butterfly picture and I can attest to how hard they are to photograph.

I can't wait to hear more about that train and your brothers house is charming.

Welcome home. We had a tropical storm scare here while you were gone I hope no damage was done down your way. Hey you got a smile out of your son - great. That is your brother's starter home! Wow. The butterfly picture is great.

This is a much belated welcome home, but I'm happy to hear from you again. How was spam a lot. I've been wanting to see that.

Tuff, I linked to you in my latest post. I was thinking of you and Sandy chasing butterflies, like me. It's so hard to get a picture, I KNOW!!! I was just showing Ross your brother's house (it's very impressive!) He says there's plenty of room...we'll be right down :)
Glad you had such a nice trip. Great job with the butterfly pic!
