Space shuttle blast off

center of the photo - the little white scratch above the clouds!
This is what the blast off looks like from my house, 152 miles southwest of the Kennedy Space Center.

It's just a thin wispy trail in the photo, but I bet it's pretty cool that you can see history-in-the-making, watching a space shuttle disappear into the atmosphere...

Hope you're having a good weekend (as I trundle off to work this Monday morning.... sigh!)

ahem...now we know where you live. We'll be right over to get our son.

That's great that you get to see the shuttles without leaving your home. Even though you're pretty far away, do you hear the sound?

Hey that's pretty neat! You're seeing history in the making. I too am curious about whether of not you can here the sound.

Thanks all for the comments. No, I cannot hear any sound when the shuttle takes off. However, when it returns to earth and enters the atmosphere, there is a loud double "boom" sound that sounds like a cannon going off.
