Back on duty!

I suspect that a dirt bag guy in my neighborhood is stealing gas. I noticed that after I had filled my tank, the next time I used my vehicle half the gas was gone. My son told me that he thought his car might need a tune-up because of poor gas milege, so he is likely a victim too. I checked with my neighbors and they are having similar problems. I live in a small middle class neighborhood. Most of people are good and considerate of each other. I was forced to buy locking gas caps for the cars. I suggested to the neigbors that they do the same. I have been watching the suspects movements, (he doesn't work -suprised?) I have looked up his name and arrest record and checked his recent sales at the pawn shops (he has a lot of sales - suprised?) Now I just have to watch and wait until I have the proof. I wish I was a fly on the wall to see his face when he discovers that many of our tanks are locked now! The suspect and his wife have asked the neighbors from time to time to "borrow" money. We have all given them money and felt sorry for them, but they really need to go to jail. It is annoying, but in the same way good to have a "case" to work again!

Super Sleuth Tuff is on the job again! I feel slightly sorry for this guy because he has no hope now. You are going to catch him red-handed, I can tell!

Good for you Tuff and I hope you catch this guy and all of his accomplices.

We had that problem too, of gas going missing and we discovered it one day when we didn't even make it out of the driveway, because we were out of gas. We had just filled up the tank the day before.
We put locking gas caps on our cars, which made it harder for me to get gas. The reason the gas caps were not coming off easily was because the gas thieves were removing them without the keys and just using force to get them off at night. We took them off and only put what gas we needed for wherever we were going and not any extra.
The thieves have since moved away so we are now being able to keep more gas in our cars in case of emergencies.

With gas prices rising so high we're all going to be facing more gas thieves on the loose.

Hope you catch your thief.

After reading this post, we went to Auto Zone and purchased locking gas caps for both our vehicles. I think gas here is more precious than the stones in my wedding rings. Where will it all end????

Hope your mother's day was a great one! I had to work until noon but then joined the rest of the family for a dinner out. It was a glorious day for all of us.

Glad to hear about your son's acceptance into the community college. Good for him. See. You make a great coach and a great mother.
