New door
Outside still has to be painted. Check out my new front door. Two guys came, sawed a BIG hole in the existing door and put in this beautiful leaded glass panel. It took about an hour. It really throws a lot of light into the dark foyer. I like it. Installed by: Devin O'Connell Decorative Door Glass.
Beautiful door. You may not read this till you return from your trip but hope you have a nice one and I know what you mean about having to have every thing you may need. I have always kept a ready bag that if I needed to just pick it up and go I could - it was advice from an abuse shelter. It makes for easy packing when taking a weekend trip.
Love your new door. I need one also (ours was installed when our house was built in 1972) and like the look of the leaded panels. We priced new ones at our large home improvement store but we weren't too impressed with either the product or the prices. Maybe one of these days we will just see one we really, really like and decide to buy it. Thanks for sharing these pictures.
Hope your trip is a lot of fun. When we were kids, our parents would take my sister and I to Chicago on the South Shore railroad. It is a commuter train but we thought it was the greatest. You can actually look out the window and notice things that you would otherwise not see if you were driving.

WOW...I didn't know they could use your existing door...that's really nice.

Just stopped in to check if you were back yet.
